i’m gonna fight ‘em alla seven nation army couldn’t hold me back

inspired by this post about a fem!moran (particularly a line about her tattoos) adsgh if this actually happened oh man
oh and in case you care, the line in hindi between her shoulder-blades means ‘if there’s life, there’s the world’ yeah mm i like me some deep shit and also that’s the british royal marines crest on her left arm

I still sorta hope for a female Moran, simply because Moran from the books is such a classically male character: he’s the Great White Hunter, the card sharp, the cold sniper, the officer-and-a-gentleman. He’s explicitly described as “virile” and he even has a great big bristly mustache. And taking that character and making him female (without changing the original personality and characteristics) would be a ideal way for Steven Moffat to react to the (justified, IMO) criticisms of misogyny and sexism.
Although even if he would, she’d probably turn out to be a collection of clichés taken from the butch-lesbian-cliché-grab-bag. And still it would be better than yet another straight white cis-bloke.
A transgender character would obvs be awesome too, but considering Moffat’s pretty gender-essentialist at the best of times, that isn’t very likely to happen. Unfortunately.
